Together, we can create a future free from the threat of this devastating disease.

Mission, Vision & Story

Our Mission

Our mission is to eradicate polio through comprehensive vaccination programs, education, and community engagement. We believe that with the right knowledge, tools, and commitment, we can ensure a future where polio no longer poses a threat to any child, anywhere.

Our Vision

We envision a polio-free world where all children can thrive without fear of disease or disability. Our efforts are driven by a vision of global health equity, where even the most vulnerable populations have access to lifesaving vaccines and healthcare.

Our Story

PolioSafe was founded by a group of healthcare professionals and advocates who recognized that polio remains a real threat in certain parts of the world. Despite global progress, communities in specific regions continue to face outbreaks. With the determination to close this gap, we launched PolioSafe to support and complement existing eradication efforts. Through our outreach, education, and vaccination drives, we work to bring polio cases to zero worldwide.

History

Our Background & History

Our Story

PolioSafe was founded with a clear and urgent goal: to eliminate polio globally. The organization emerged from a shared commitment to ensuring that no child suffers from this preventable disease. Our founders—a group of passionate healthcare professionals, advocates, and global health experts—recognized the need for a collaborative, multifaceted approach to polio eradication. What began as a small initiative has since grown into a global movement, making significant strides in regions where polio continues to pose a threat.

A Global Challenge

Despite decades of progress, polio remains a serious issue in certain parts of the world. In 1988, the World Health Organization (WHO) launched the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) with the aim of completely eradicating the disease. Significant strides have been made over the years, but the virus still persists in a few countries, primarily due to factors such as conflict, lack of access to healthcare, and inadequate infrastructure.

PolioSafe emerged as a response to this ongoing challenge, with a strong commitment to contributing to the worldwide eradication effort. The organization provides on-the-ground support in high-risk areas, helps vaccinate children, and raises awareness about polio prevention.

Challenges Along the Way

The journey to polio eradication has not been without its challenges. Political instability, natural disasters, and logistical barriers often make reaching communities difficult. Despite these obstacles, PolioSafe has continuously adapted to overcome them. From working in conflict zones to implementing creative mobile vaccination strategies, we have been able to ensure that vaccination campaigns continue. The resilience of the communities we serve and the unwavering commitment of healthcare professionals have been central to our progress.

A Future Without Polio

PolioSafe’s work continues as we strive toward a world free from polio. With the global number of polio cases at an all-time low, the goal of eradication is within reach. However, the fight is not over. We remain focused on overcoming the final challenges—ensuring that every last child receives the polio vaccine and that no community is left behind.
